MOUNT VERNON – Jake Weber-Koetje led all scorers with 25 points in rallying the Mount Vernon Bulldogs to a 65-63 win over the Snohomish Panthers Tuesday night in 3A non conference high school basketball.

The Bulldogs trailed by three after three quarters, but outscored the Panthers 18-13 in the fourth period to defeat Snohomish in their season opener for the second straight year.

Mount Vernon will host Cascade Saturday night, December 5, and SkagitRadio.com will webcast the game live with Scot Buchanan, Fred Lee, and Peter Swanson. The Les Schwab Tire Centers Pre Game Show will start at 7:15 p.m., with tip off to follow at 7:30 p.m.

Mount Vernon    10 13 22 18 – 65

Snohomish: Hamlin 21, Carlson 15, McGee 11, Steele 8, Simpson 4, Sterley 2, Yates 2.
Mount Vernon: Weber-Koetje 25, Knapp 13, Leek 10, Barnet 9, Acode 6, Chaplin 2.
