La Conner High School

LA CONNER – If the La Conner Braves baseball team is playing, it’s usually in a game shortened to five innings due to the 10-run rule.  All four of La Conner’s wins this season have been by at least 10 runs while five of their seven losses were by 10 runs or more, including the second game of  a doubleheader loss to Concrete Friday afternoon in Northwest 2B baseball.

The first game of the twin-bill was a rare La Conner game that wasn’t shortened by the ten run rule, as Concrete’s Trent Kitchen threw a two-hitter and struck out 15 Braves in leading the Lions to a 7-0 victory.

Game two was a much different story.  The 22-2 Concrete win was highlighted by the visitors scoring 10-runs with two outs in the  fourth inning.  Four Lions scored twice in the game, five had two hits or more, and five had more than two runs batted in during the lopsided win.

Concrete’s Seth Rauch got the win in the nightcap and shined at the plate for the Lions, ripping a double and a grand-slam in the fourth inning and finishing the game with five runs batted in.

With the two wins, Concrete is now 8-2 in conference play and 10-3 overall, while the losses drop La Conner to 3-6 in conference and 4-7 overall.

BURLINGTON – Our team at SkagitRadio.com would like to express our sincere gratitude to our listeners, each of our great local sponsors,  the players, parents, coaches and school administrators whom we worked for and with in webcasting every B-EHS basketball game from the state 2A tournaments in Yakima.

As the only local sportscasters who personally made the trip to follow both Tigers basketball teams, we were excited to be there, pleased to be providing quality coverage, and blown away by the number of listeners we had, and the many email and text messages we received in support of what we’re doing.  Thank You!

We think it’s all about the local teams and our communities that support them, and at SkagitRadio.com we take pride in providing the very best coverage for those sports fans who cannot attend the games, and for anyone who’d like to listen at their convenience or download a copy from our free archives – which are now available immediately following the live webcast.

We hope you enjoyed our calls of all six B-EHS Tigers games at state (and seven La Conner Braves’ and Lady Braves’ games the previous week from Spokane) and we encourage you to save us to your Internet “bookmarks” or “favorites” list.

We also invite you to continue visiting SkagitRadio.com this spring for our coverage of baseball and fast-pitch softball.  Beginning next week we’ll be bringing you spring sports coverage of all our Skagit County teams, and looking ahead to next football season, SkagitRadio.com will not only follow the Tigers every week, we’ll also have additional webcast teams covering Concrete, La Conner, Mount Vernon, and Sedro-Woolley football here on the worldwide home for Skagit County high school sports – SkagitRadio.com.
