LYNDEN – The defending  state 2A girls basketball champion Lynden Lions started slowly before their relentless defensive pressure limited Blaine to just six points during the second and third periods as the Lady Lions beat Blaine 64-25 in Northwest Conference high school basketball.

After finishing the first quarter tied 10-10, the Lions’ oppressive full court press allowed Lynden to outscore the Borderites 38-6 to take a 48-16 lead into the fourth quarter.

Kellie Fluit paced the Lions with 15 points and five rebounds while Hannah Shine also chipped in double figures with 11 points with three assists.

Stefawn Perrin had a team-high 12 points for Blaine.  and Jordan Oldham and Libby Moore each grabbed six rebounds to lead the Borderites.
