SHORELINE – Trailing by 27 points, the Nooksack Valley Pioneers battled back to defeat King’s 54-47 Friday in the quarterfinals of the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association class 1A state high school football playoffs.
After falling behind 40-13, the Pioneers advanced the state semi-finals by outscoring the Knights 41-7. Nooksack Valley (10-2) will play undefeated (12-0) Cascade Christian in the Tacoma Dome Saturday, November 28, with kickoff scheduled for 1 pm. The winner earn a berth in the state championship game December 5, also in the Tacoma Dome.
