BELLINGHAM – The Blaine Borderites struck early and often against Bellingham Thursday night at Civic Field, overpowering the Red Raiders 51-0 in Northwest Conference high school football.

The Borderites were led by senior tailback Caleb Statham, who rushed for 186 yards on just 15 carries and scored a season high four touchdowns, all in the first half.  The Borderites also scored on a fake punt direct-snap to Sean Allen, who threw to Andrew Miller down the right side for a 47-yard touchdown strike that gave Blaine a 44-0 halftime lead.

The Blaine victory secured the number three seed from the NWC into the 2A district playoffs for the Borderites, and with the shutout Blaine completed a season where they held all three Bellingham city schools scoreless, a point of pride for the Borderites.

BURLINGTON – After falling behind for the third straight game, the Burlington-Edison Tiger scored 31 straight points on their way to a 31-15 victory over Bellingham Friday night in NWC 2Aa football.
