Squalicum storms past Burlington-Edison 35-17

by John on September 20, 2009

BELLINGHAM -  The Squalicum Storm were Burlington-Edison’s nemesis last year on the basketball court, and Friday night the Storm took a big step toward also earning respect on the gridiron.

Squalicum’s defense forced five Tigers turnovers, including two fourth quarter interceptions in Storm territory by Christian Foster, to deliver a 35-17 beating to the Tigers, who had stopped the Storm 34-14 last season – when their only losses were to state champion Lynden and runner-up Prosser.

The Tigers (1-1, 2-1) will host Bellingham (0-2, 0-3) next Friday and we’ll webcast the game on SkagitRadio.com with John Fasso and Scot Buchanan.
