SEDRO-WOOLLEY – The Burlington-Edison Tigers scored on two of their first three plays from scrimmage, taking an early 14-0 lead on their way to a 24-13 victory over Sedro-Woolley in the season opening Northwest Conference high school football game for both teams.

TACOMA – A great Nooksack Valley football season came to an end Saturday afternoon in the Tacoma Dome, where the Cascade Christian Cougars pounced on the Pioneers for 14 first quarter points and held on for a 28-12 victory in the semifinals of the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association 1A football playoffs.

Blackhawks soar over Neah Bay 64-36
