Burlington-Edison Tigers

tigerlogo100BELLINGHAM-  The Burlington-Edison Tigers season came to an end today at the hands of the 20-3 Archbishop Murphy Wildcats/  The teams played it close until the bottom of the sixth inning when Archbishop Murphy put up six runs including a pair of two RBI doubles to put the game out of reach for the Tigers 8-2.

The Wildcats will advance to face W.F. West in the first Semi-Final game at 4:00 PM next Friday at County Stadium in Yakima.   In the other Semi-Final game Selah will take on R.A. Long of Longview.   The winners will play for the WIAA 2A Title on Saturday at 7:00 PM while the losers play for third and fourth place at 1:00 PM on Saturday.

ANACORTES – Jordan Reed didn’t give up an earned run in his 5 1/3 innings of work, and the Tigers got solid relief pitching from Urban Morales and Chris Vivanco as the Tigers advanced to the Regional round with a 5-3 win over Sehome. The Tigers got their offense in a three run first inning and got the game winning runs on a two run pinch hit home run from Jacob Schifferl in the top of the 7th.

The Tigers will play again Saturday at Joe Martin Field in Bellingham and will take on the Centralia Tigers at 1:00 PM in a game to be webcast here on SkagitRadio.com

ANACORTES – The Burlington-Edison Tigers outscored the Lynden Lions 11-7 in a loser-out game of the District One 2A baseball tournament. The game featured a pair of grand slam home runs.

With the victory, the Tigers advance to play the loser of the Anacortes vs. Blaine game, with a regional tournament berth at stake. The winner of that game will earn the #3 seed from District One and will play its regional tournament games at Joe Martin Stadium in Bellingham.

Tigers fall to Cougars 3-1
